Eco Walking is guided walks on wild land. We take a closer look at plants, insects, birds and all the other creatures. We also try to understand the relationships
between species, for example butterflies and plants We want to serve as a platform for habitat conservation by giving information and also receiving from other people.

     Langspruit trail - a wild little valley on your doorstep !

     Length:  2 hours  A guided walk costs R50 pp

     This is an easy two hour walk from Nkwathle bush camp to the Langspruit. The enviroment is  unspoilt
     bushveld with exellent insect life and bird life. The Langspruit runs over an area of  exposed granite rock with
     amazing plant diversity and interesting lizards. 

     What to bring:  water bottle, hat, snacks, binoculars.
     Overnight accomodation is available at Nkwathle bush camp and Hazy Park Lodge contact us.

Matumi trail 1 More eco information

     
      Matumi trail - an unspoilt escarpment river.

      Length:  4-5 hours, including a rest. A guided walk costs R50pp

      This beautiful trail runs along the Mac Mac river, mostly under riverine forest. It starts just opposite
      Induna Adventures and runs upstream for plus minus four km. and then leads back on  the other side of the
      river The Mac Mac river runs in forestry area and is mostly unspoilt. The forest includesome of the oldest and
      tallest Matumi trees in S.A. Forest butterflies, forest birds and  waterbirds are special.   

       What to bring:  walking boots, water bottle, snacks, binoculars.

Umbhaba lodge guided walk 1 More eco information


       Umbhaba trail - a Kiaat forest next to town.

       Length:  1 hour.  A guided walk costs R50pp

      This is a short informative walk through tall woodland at Umbhaba Lodge. The guided walk takes plus
      minus one hour and the trees have nameplates to help with identification.
      Different vegetation forms each
      with it's own insect and bird species makes it a very interesting walk.

Waterberry Hill Lodge guided walk 1


     Waterberry Hill trail - the best place to feel the escarpment bushveld !

     Length:  2 hours easy walk.

     Waterberry Hill Resort sits on th e wooded hills of the lower Sabi valley. The bushveld is undesturbed and
     there are very nice walking trails.
    
     The guided walk will take plus minus two hours and runs through different vegetation zones.
     Insect and bird  life is fantastic.

     What to bring:  water bottle, hat, snacks, binoculars.

Crowned eagle guided walk 1 More eco information

      
       Crowned Eagle trail - a wilderness where u can find the top predator as well as the forest butterfly. 

       Length:  2 - 3 hours. The guided walk costs R50pp

      Hamiltons Park Country Lodge lies in the lower Dagama valley with excellent bushveld and forest habitat. 
      Plant diversity is overwhelming and insect and birdlife amazing, especially forest butterflies. 
      Because of the terrain and changes in altitude you walk through different plant zones, a paradise for the
      tree  and orchid lover.  The trail is named after the crowned eagle which is resident in the area and is the  
      top predator of the escarpment.   

      What to bring:  water bottle, hat, snacks, binoculars.
